Losing weight requires moving more and eating less. Check out some of the following ways to start losing weight for summer, and don't be afraid to get creative!
Before and After Pictures
Seeing an unpleasant before picture is a great way to get motivated. Update the after picture every 3-4 weeks to watch the progress and stay on track. Evidence of change is what helps that change continue.
Wear Tight Pants
Individuals who squeeze into pants a size smaller are more likely to lose the weight to fit into those pants. The cinching and unpleasant tightness reminds them to move more and eat less.
Don’t Use the Back of the Chair
Sit on the edge. Sit up straight. Sitting up straight in a chair burns more calories that slouching. It also gives the appearance that the body is taller and more slender. By acting like a slender person, individuals will find themselves becoming a slender person.
Part-time Manual Labor Job
Get paid to move! Even if it’s only 2 hours a week, take a side-job that doubles as exercise. The benefits include consistency (people show up to jobs), calories burned (move the body and lose more weight), and money (treat the family to some healthy, and more expensive, fruits and vegetables).
Choose Red Sauces
There’s no need to completely eliminate foods that are enjoyable. Feel free to eat foods like pasta, but make healthy compromised. When eating pasta, choose red sauces over higher-calorie cream sauces. Instead of using fattening ingredients to improve the flavor (like butter and oil), use more herbs and spices.
Body Cleanse
Do some research and learn about different types of body cleanses (colon, liver, overall). Complete a body cleanse and experience the positive benefits. People who complete cleanses tend to lose weight (compacted feces and toxins), and have a decreased appetite and cravings. When the body is cleansed, it removes harmful and detrimental toxins and makes it easier to lose weight and manage a healthier lifestyle.
Half the Plate
When eating dinner, fill the entire plate (what most people do). Now take half off the plate and save it for lunch (or dinner) tomorrow. This action will help individuals lose weight by cutting out calories. It also helps people save money by turning one meal into two.
Jell-O
Remember that jell-o is a cheap and low-calorie snack. Find other low-calorie (and inexpensive) snacks to add to the cupboard. Be sure to bring those snacks to work, too. This will help many people avoid fast food lunches.
Eat an Apple before Dinner
An apple is full of nutrients and fiber that help the body feel full. This is a great technique when going to eat or going to a friend’s house for dinner.
